Boeing offers to transfer projectiles with a range of up to 150 km to Ukraine - Reuters

The Pentagon is considering Boeing's offer to supply Ukraine with cheap, small, precision-guided bombs that would allow Kyiv to strike far behind Russian lines, up to 150 kilometers away.

Boeing's proposed Land-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) system could be delivered as early as spring 2023. The GLSDB combines the GBU-39 small diameter bomb (SDB) with the M26 rocket engine.

The main GLSDB components will come from existing US warehouses.

Although several units of the GLSDB have already been manufactured, there are many logistical barriers to official procurement.

Boeing's plan requires no price disclosure, which frees the contractor from an in-depth review that guarantees the Pentagon the best possible offer. Any deal would also require at least six suppliers to expedite the delivery of their parts and services for the rapid production of weapons.
