Asia (bbabo.net), - China is ready to work with Russia to further develop bilateral energy cooperation. This was stated today, November 29, by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his message to the participants of the III Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum.
“China is ready to make efforts together with Russia to create even closer energy cooperation, jointly protect energy security, and face the challenges of global climate change,” China Central Television quoted the text of the message as saying.
“The outstanding achievements of the energy cooperation between the two countries demonstrate the wide potential for the development of Sino-Russian relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in a new era,” the document says.
In his message, Xi Jinping also noted that energy is an important area of cooperation between the two countries.
“The parties overcame the impact of the pandemic, contrary to general trends, ensured the growth of energy trade, successfully promoted major cooperation projects, and continuously developed new areas and mechanisms of cooperation,” the Chinese President said, citing excerpts from a TASS report.
The Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum was established in July 2018 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Every year, representatives of the largest companies in the energy, financial and IT sectors, political and public figures, diplomats and experts from the two countries take part in its work.
