India and the United States conduct joint military exercises near the border with China

Asia (bbabo.net), - In the Himalayas in the Indian border state of Uttarakhand, joint exercises of special forces units of the armed forces of India and the United States, Yudh Abhyas, are held annually. This was announced today, November 29, TASS reports with reference to the ANI agency.

According to the agency, the maneuvers are being held to exchange experience between Indian and American special forces for practicing anti-terrorist operations in high-mountainous areas, as well as actions to provide assistance in case of natural disasters.

The Yudh Abhyas teachings are being held for the 18th time. They involve soldiers of the Assam Regiment of the Indian Army and soldiers of the 11th Airborne Division of the US Army. In addition, Mi-17V5 military transport helicopters, which are in service with the Indian army, as well as anti-drone systems and other modern weapons, are involved.

In 2021, Yudh Abhyas maneuvers were held at the Elmendorf-Richardson US Army Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
