Caucasus (bbabo.net), - The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) called on the members of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to carefully study the candidacy of the new American ambassador to Armenia, the information and analytical portal VERELQ reports today, November 29.
President Joe Biden nominated Christina Quinn for the post of Ambassador to Armenia in July of this year. If approved in the upper house of the US Congress, she will replace Lynn Tracy, who has headed the diplomatic mission in the Transcaucasian republic since 2019 and who received an “F” rating from ANCA for poor performance on fifteen different performance indicators.
In this regard, in the leading lobbying organization for Armenians, the United States is demanding that the specified Senate Committee, during the upcoming hearings (November 30) on the confirmation of Queen's candidacy, ask the latter for answers to questions regarding American support for the security of Armenia and the protection of Nagorno-Karabakh.
At the same time, ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian is convinced that Queen's nomination for the post of US Ambassador to Armenia provides an opportunity to reset US-Armenian relations and "turn the page of the Tracy era."
Christina Quinn has served as U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine since January 2020. Prior to that, she was Deputy US Ambassador to France, as well as Economic Counselor at the Embassy in Paris.
As bbabo.net reported, Lynn Tracy will head the US Embassy in Russia.
