Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine are not serious at the moment. This was announced on Monday, November 28, by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
“Any calls for a ceasefire are not serious right now. Because a truce at this moment would, in fact, mean recognition of the injustice that has already occurred, ”Steinmeier said, pointing to the results of the referendums on the annexation of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia.
The German President added that at the moment he does not see a way out of this situation. He noted that he considers it impossible to accurately predict further security guarantees for Ukraine.
“We are still at the stage where we cannot say exactly what such security guarantees might look like, who will provide them and what their content should be. Because the content of such guarantees is connected with the end of hostilities. And since the end of hostilities is not yet in sight, security guarantees cannot be formulated,” he summed up.
Earlier, on November 7, Steinmeier pointed to the right of Ukraine to make a decision on the negotiations. The statement of the President of Germany was made against the backdrop of the appearance of materials in the media and statements by politicians that Western curators are urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia and end the confrontation diplomatically.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on November 2 during a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine discussed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and ways to resolve it. Erdogan said that diplomatic efforts should be intensified to end the conflict with a just peace.
On October 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in order to achieve results in resolving the situation around Ukraine, it is necessary to sit down at the negotiating table. At the same time, he noted that the Kyiv authorities at the moment have no desire to talk with Moscow.
