Ukraine (bbabo.net), - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz refrains from supplying tanks to the Kyiv regime for fear of a backlash from the Russian Federation.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the German television channel NTV by a member of the Bundestag from the CDU, retired colonel Roderich Kizewetter.
“In my opinion, the chancellor was alarmed by the widespread opinion in Russia that the use of German tanks against Russian troops would be a provocation,” he said.
The colonel noted that the United States does not put pressure on Germany on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, hoping that Berlin "does it on its own."
However, he acknowledged that Washington is closely monitoring the situation and that “more clear signals for action” may soon follow from there.
Recall that back in late October, the German government refused to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Chancellor Scholz then said that Berlin did not intend to supply Western weapons to Kyiv unilaterally without coordination with partners.
At the same time, it should be borne in mind that Germany supplies the Ukrainian regime with other weapons, as well as ammunition.
As bbabo.net reported, earlier the representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers, Steffen Hebestreit, said that the Bundeswehr itself already lacks ammunition. The reason for this is the supply of weapons to Ukraine and problems with the distribution of the budget.
