Tbilisi: Saakashvili, like Timoshenko, will jump out of a wheelchair when free

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Georgian authorities suspect imprisoned ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili of feigning a serious health condition.

His family and lawyers previously said he had 36 diagnoses, including dementia and tuberculosis, but now they are focusing on allegations that Saakashvili was poisoned in custody, either with mercury or arsenic.

The chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, stressed that the ex-president is “practically in a privileged position”, having been treated in a clinic for many months, and not in prison.

“Let me remind you of one of Mikheil Saakashvili's girlfriends, Yulia Timoshenko, who got out of prison in a wheelchair. This was her first and last appearance in a wheelchair. The next day she jumped out of it. Why? Because it was a simulation. Are we dealing with the same simulation? This question must be answered first of all with a diagnosis,” Kobakhidze said.

The Georgian authorities urge to refrain from drawing premature conclusions about the possible poisoning of the former president. The Ministry of Justice of Georgia instructed the National Bureau of Forensic Science to check whether the prisoner Saakashvili was actually poisoned.

According to the lawyer, Saakashvili needs a special chair to attend court sessions.
