Which countries will be included in the energy group created by the United States in the interests of Ukraine?

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - The United States is considering creating a special working group to restore the energy infrastructure in Ukraine, The New York Times reported the night before, November 29.

According to her, the group will include countries - members of the Group of Seven and their closest allies. It is noted that the members of the contact group will meet in December in Paris.

As the newspaper writes, discussions about its creation began in early November on the sidelines of a meeting of the G7 foreign ministers in Munster. It is assumed that the “energy group” will work by analogy with the contact group created by Western countries in April to coordinate military assistance to Kyiv, cites excerpts from a TASS publication.

Earlier it was reported that the United States plans to provide Ukraine with the first batch of assistance in the coming days to restore energy infrastructure, as stated by John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council. He did not elaborate on the details related to the delivery of this aid.

On November 29, Washington announced the allocation of $ 53 million for the purchase of equipment for energy networks for Ukraine. This assistance package will include distribution transformers and other equipment. As specified in the State Department, the new tranche of assistance will be in addition to the $55 million previously allocated by the United States as emergency assistance to support the energy sector of Ukraine. In total, since Russia launched a special military operation, Washington has provided Kyiv with almost $32 billion in aid, including $145 million “for the repair, maintenance and strengthening of the Ukrainian energy sector.”
