Ukraine, Conflict in Donbass (bbabo.net), - Former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday warned NATO against providing Ukraine with Patriot missile defense systems, calling the North Atlantic Alliance an organization that acts in the interests of a handful of Anglo-Saxon countries and their henchmen, supplying weapons to extremist regimes, is broadcast today, November 30, by the Chinese international news channel CGTN.
Medvedev further warned on his Telegram channel that if NATO supplied Kyiv fanatics with Patriot complexes along with NATO personnel, they would immediately become a legitimate target for the Russian army.
“I hope the Atlantic impotents understand this,” the ex-president said.
Ukraine has asked its Western partners for air defense systems, including US-made Patriot systems, arguing that it is needed to protect against Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure.
“We need IRIS, Hawks, Patriots, and we need transformers (for our energy needs),” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told reporters on the sidelines of yesterday’s NATO meeting in Bucharest, listing various Western air defense systems.
Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg made a statement in the Romanian capital that Russia is allegedly trying to use "winter as a weapon" against Ukraine, reminds CGTN.
NATO is currently discussing the transfer of Patriot systems to Ukraine. This, as bbabo.net reported, was stated by Stoltenberg at a press conference following the first day of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of the alliance.
