Ukraine (bbabo.net), - On January 1, the German authorities pledged to stop the import of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. However, they did not find a complete replacement for raw materials.
Germany has launched an alternative oil supply route to the PCK refinery in Schwedt via Rostock, but its capacity is not enough to ensure the production of the previous volume of gasoline, diesel fuel and kerosene. This was announced at the round table by PCK Managing Director Ralph Scheirer, rbb24 reports.
“The fact is that people here are used to stability, and this stability will probably no longer exist,” he added.
Schwedt Mayor Annekathrin Hoppe expressed hope that the refinery will be loaded by more than 50% from January 1, when Olaf Scholz promised to stop any import of Russian oil.
“The import ban is Chancellor Olaf Scholz's promise to the federal government. Our task is to implement individual points step so that additional oil supplies for Schwedt go through Poland and Kazakhstan, and this is exactly what we are working on with all our might, ”said Michael Kellner, Deputy Minister of Economy of Germany, in an interview with dpa.
The Economy Ministry expects a delegation from Kazakhstan in December, he added. The essence of the negotiations is whether Russia will send Kazakh oil through Druzhba. An alternative option is by tankers through Polish Gdansk. Negotiations with Poland are ongoing.
Brandenburg Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach hopes that deliveries can be established within six months at the latest.
Earlier, Berlin temporarily nationalized the German Rosneft companies, which own a stake in the RSK refinery, and introduced its own manager.
The capacity of the plant in Schwedt is almost 12 million tons. The stability of fuel supply to both the east of Germany, including Berlin, and the western part of Poland depends on the refinery.
