Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov "on the sidelines" of the 29th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Poland held a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, the parties discussed the bilateral agenda and normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, in particular, Bayramov and Borrell discussed the implementation of agreements in the energy sector.

“The parties also exchanged views on efforts to achieve progress in the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the role of the EU in this process,” the ministry notes.

Bayramov stressed that Armenia is hindering the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan, evading the fulfillment of the obligations reached at the level of the leaders of the two countries, and is trying to form a misleading opinion about the normalization process.

Borrell, in turn, wrote on his Twitter account that the EU is committed to facilitating peace talks between Baku and Yerevan.

“We discussed regional problems with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. Stressed the EU's commitment to facilitating peace talks and building confidence in the South Caucasus. I look forward to cooperation with Azerbaijan in continuing efforts for peacebuilding and regional prosperity,” Borrell stressed.
