“If until now the American military was in Lithuania with the tasks of familiarizing themselves with the situation, conducting joint exercises, now such units are deployed that are provided with equipment for immediate combat operations,” Rupshis explained.

According to him, the rotational units of the United States will be in Lithuania until 2025.

“They will conduct combat training and education (of the Lithuanian military - bbabo.net). They will act as a deterrent, but these units are also ready to conduct defensive operations together with us and together with other allies, ”the commander emphasized.

Earlier it became known that the US State Department approved the sale of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to Lithuania for $ 495 million.
