Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Armenian delegation headed by Defense Minister Suren Papikyan left for a working visit to Russia. This was reported on December 8, the press service of the military department of the Transcaucasian Republic.
The agenda and other details of Papikyan's upcoming meetings in Moscow are not specified.
The Defense Ministers of Armenia and Russia, Suren Papikyan and Sergei Shoigu, had a brief conversation last month after a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Defense Ministry and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO countries in Yerevan. According to the results of the conversation, Papikyan, an exchange of views took place on a number of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, as well as on topics of mutual interest.
Speaking last Wednesday in the parliament of the republic, Papikyan said that Armenia is considering the possibility of acquiring weapons of a new quality and is close to substantive results.
