USA (bbabo.net) - NATO was aware that Ukraine was preparing attacks on the strategic military airfields of Diaghilevo in the Ryazan region and Engels in the Saratov region using strike drones, this could create serious risks for nuclear security. This was stated by the head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on issues of military security and arms control Konstantin Gavrilov during the plenary session of the OSCE Forum on Security Cooperation.
His speech was posted on December 7, on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Serious risks for nuclear safety could be created by provocations against the Russian strategic airfields Diaghilevo and Engels using Tu-141 Strizh jet attack drones. It is known that during 2022, work was carried out to restore and modernize these Soviet drones with the participation of specialists from the Ukrainian Luch Design Bureau (in Kiev) and the American corporation Raytheon Technologies. The UAV was turned into a strike weapon with a range of up to 1000 km with a high-explosive warhead up to 80 kg and the ability to target using the American global GPS satellite system, ”Gavrilov said at the forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
“In other words, NATO was aware of the preparations for the latest Ukrainian attacks on Russian military airfields,” he stated.
As the head of the Russian delegation emphasized, Russia "gave an immediate response to it with a massive strike on the military command and control system, defense complex facilities and related energy facilities of Ukraine."
“No one should have any doubts that this will happen every time if acts of Ukrainian terrorism continue,” Gavrilov said.

The military department indicated that “Ukrainian UAVs flying at low altitude were intercepted by the air defense of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as a result of the fall and explosion of fragments of jet drones at Russian airfields, the skin of the hull of two aircraft was slightly damaged.”
On December 6, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, informed that as a result of a drone attack, an oil storage tank caught fire in the area of the Kursk airfield. According to him, there were no casualties.
On December 7, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said at a press briefing that the Pentagon is not coordinating with Kiev all its attacks, Washington was not aware in advance of Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.
