Earthquake near Makhachkala felt throughout the South Caucasus

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - An earthquake occurred in Ganja, the second largest city of Azerbaijan, and the surrounding areas. Tremors were recorded on December 8 at 10.42 am (09.42 Moscow time).

The earthquake lasted less than a minute. Tremors were also felt in the Zagatala and Gakh regions of the republic. There are no reports of damage or casualties.

The epicenter of the natural disaster was in Dagestan. As reported earlier on Thursday at the Republican Seismological Service Center, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred 82 km south-south-west of Makhachkala.

Underground points were also felt on the territory of Armenia and Georgia.

According to the Armenian Seismic Service, an earthquake was registered in the Tavush and Lori regions in the north of the republic with a magnitude of 4.
