USA (bbabo.net), - Donald Trump's former national security aide John Bolton said he could run for president in 2024 in order to prevent his former boss from being re-elected.

“In the event that the current candidates do not abdicate Trump, I am ready to take part in the [presidential] race,” he wrote on Twitter on Monday.

Bolton explained his decision by the need to protect the US Constitution, since last week Trump called for the revision of several legislative provisions, including constitutional ones, due, in his opinion, to violations during the 2020 presidential election.

Currently, the only registered candidate for the US presidential race is Donald Trump. Bolton served as National Security Adviser to the President of the United States from 2018 to 2019. Trump demanded that he resign. Bolton subsequently released a memoir critical of the Republican.
