Slovakia is ready to transfer its fighters to Ukraine

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Bratislava is ready to transfer its MiG-29 fighters to Kyiv. This was announced today, December 12, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Rastislav Kacher.

“We have not handed over the MiG-29 to you yet, but we are ready to do it. We are talking with our NATO partners about how to do this,” he said.

According to Kacher, this was discussed at the last meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Our Minister of Defense has explained to your President how this can be done. And I think that a Ukrainian delegation will arrive in Slovakia in the coming weeks and together with our American friends we will work to make this a reality ... I am very optimistic about this, I think this will happen soon and the planes will be in Ukraine, ”said the Slovak the minister, adding that he did not want to comment on the details of the discussions on the transfer of fighters, so as not to harm the process.

Recall that Slovakia opposes the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and provides Kyiv with various assistance, including military. In this case, we are talking about 11 aircraft, the operation of which was abandoned by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic in February. This is not the first time Bratislava has announced the possibility of transferring fighter jets to Kyiv, but so far the matter has not progressed beyond talk. One of the reasons is the delay in the delivery of 14 F-16 aircraft previously purchased by Slovakia from the United States.
