Zelensky asks G7 for help in buying gas

“I urge you to increase assistance to Ukraine in the gas issue. Terror against our power plants has led to the fact that we are forced to use more gas than planned. Therefore, we need additional support this winter,” Zelensky said in his video message.

He clarified that we are talking about "a volume of about two billion cubic meters of gas." According to him, this is the amount of necessary gas that needs to be purchased additionally.

Earlier, the former head of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, in an interview with the German publication Handelsblatt, said that Ukraine would face the worst winter in history due to constant power outages and problems with heating. Later, the new head of the company, Alexei Chernyshov, said that in order to generate electricity, Ukraine needs the help of partners in the purchase of an additional three billion cubic meters of gas worth four billion dollars.
