Eastern market is able to accommodate all Russian gas - Chinese Ambassador

Asia (, - Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui, speaking at the Russian Gas 2022 forum, announced China's condemnation of the sabotage at Nord Stream, calling it bullying in the energy sector. This was announced today, December 15, TASS reports.

“China fully understands the actions taken by Russia in order to protect its legitimate rights and fundamental interests in the international energy market. China strongly condemns the sabotage against the Nord Stream 2 project. Such deliberate actions to destroy civilian objects are unacceptable. China opposes the bullying policy pursued by some countries in the energy sector and will never allow outside forces to interfere in energy cooperation between China and Russia,” the diplomat said.

According to him, Beijing is ready to intensify cooperation with Moscow in the energy sector.

“It is necessary to contribute to the speedy achievement of the design capacity of the gas transportation of the eastern line of the Russian-Chinese gas pipeline “Power of Siberia”. We are ready to strengthen integrated cooperation with the Russian side in the field of pipeline and liquefied gas in upstream, midstream and downstream (extraction, processing and transportation),” the ambassador added.

He noted that the East welcomes Russian gas.

“There is enough market in the East to accommodate Russian gas,” Zhang Hanhui concluded.
