Caucasus (bbabo.net), - In January-November of this year, Azerbaijan increased gas exports by 19%. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of the Republic Parviz Shahbazov today, December 15, on Twitter.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, 10.3 billion cubic meters of gas was sent to Europe in 11 months.
7.6 billion cubic meters were exported to Turkey. m of gas, to Georgia - 2.2 billion.
Of this volume, 5.2 billion cubic meters of gas was sent to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in the reporting period.
After the outbreak of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we received applications from more than ten European countries with a request to either increase or start gas supplies to Europe. This, as bbabo.net reported, was stated by President Ilham Aliyev, speaking on November 25 at the international conference "Along the Middle Corridor: Geopolitics, Security and Economics" in Baku. According to him, the Azerbaijani side is currently considering these applications.
Aliyev previously promised that in 2027 the volume of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe would reach at least 18 billion cubic meters per year. The export of such a volume to the European market will allow solving the problem of doubling the current figure, which is provided for by the agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
Recall, on July 18, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson visited Baku. As a result of the visit, a memorandum was signed on increasing the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
