This was announced today, on December 15, by Fergana News Agency.
On November 26, on the day of the inauguration of Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, who won the presidential election in Kazakhstan, Abiyev organized an illegal rally in one of the districts of Astana with resistance to the policemen who arrived at the scene. It is reported that he managed to gather about 300 people, 18 of whom were detained and prosecuted.
On November 27, the Astana Specialized Inter-District Court for Administrative Offenses found Abiyev guilty on two counts (organizing an unsanctioned rally and disobeying police orders), sentencing him to 15 days of administrative arrest, which should have ended a few days ago.
Marat Abiyev is 33 years old. He is the youngest millionaire, according to Forbes Kazakhstan magazine. According to him, he works "without patrons." However, a number of Kazakh media connected him with relatives of the former President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
