Vice President of the European Parliament suspected of corruption in favor of Qatar

According to a Belgian police statement, the searches were carried out "as part of an investigation launched by the Belgian federal prosecutor's office in the European Parliament (EP) on suspicion of corruption."

Socialist MEP Vice-President of the European Parliament Eva Kaili was arrested by Belgian authorities on Friday as part of an investigation into Qatar-related corruption and has been in custody ever since.
