Belarus (bbabo.net), - The EU control services continue to ignore the norms established under bilateral agreements for the passage of trucks when entering from the territory of Belarus. This was announced today, on December 26, in the Belarusian State Border Committee.
“More than 3,000 trucks are waiting to enter the EU countries. At the same time, European control services continue to ignore the rules for the passage of heavy trucks,” the report says.
It is noted that the busiest route on the way to the EU remains the route through the Lithuanian checkpoint Medininkai, where only 33% of the trucks were issued over the weekend.
“The largest congestion of trucks entering Poland is recorded in front of Bobrovniki. In two days, neighboring control services let 32% of heavy trucks into their territory. The Silene checkpoint remains the busiest on the way to Latvia. Here, 67% of trucks proceeded to the EU countries, ”the State Customs Committee of Belarus reported.
According to the Belarusian authorities, on the morning of December 26, more than 2,000 trucks were waiting in line at the border to enter Lithuania, 730 to Latvia, and 680 to Poland.
Recall that the situation on the border of Belarus and the EU countries has been tense for more than a year. According to the Belarusian side, queues of trucks are formed solely through the fault of the Lithuanian, Latvian and Polish control services, which do not fulfill their obligations. On some days, the number of trucks stuck on the border of Belarus with the EU countries reaches 5-6 thousand, and the queues stretch for tens of kilometers.
