Estonian state-owned company Operail has run into problems due to anti-Russian sanctions.

The country is experiencing a decrease in the number of passenger and freight traffic, writes ERR.

So, the new passenger "Amber Train" cannot start work: customers are not recruited.

This is because road transport is cheaper.

At the same time, Operail cannot reduce the price for passengers, as it suffers greatly due to the fall in exports, said Marco Paatsi, head of the company's sales department.

▪️Earlier, the Estonian authorities ordered the management of Operail to refuse business relations with Russia and Belarus.

▪️Also, Estonia does not have enough money to build a railway line of the long-suffering Rail Baltica.

The country has already spent €1.5 billion, but now it needs another €300 million.
