Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Western countries need to develop a long-term plan to support Ukraine. This was stated in an interview with the British media by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. According to him, the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the special operation should not create illusions about a possible victory for Kyiv in the near future.
“Ukrainian troops have been counter-offensive for several months, but we also know that Russia has mobilized and replenished the ranks of the military, many of those mobilized are now being trained. All this suggests that [in Moscow] they are preparing for the continuation of the war and for a possible attempt at a new offensive, ”Stoltenberg said, in particular.
At the same time, he stressed that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is likely to be resolved by peaceful negotiations, but the conditions on which the peace agreement will be based depend on the balance of power between the two countries.
In this regard, Jens Stoltenberg called for appropriate support for Ukraine, because "this is the only way to convince Russia to sit down at the negotiating table and recognize Ukraine as a sovereign, independent state of Europe."
As reported by bbabo.net, the Russian Federation does not intend to enter into negotiations with anyone on the basis of the so-called peace formula, which was announced by the head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti, the very fact of such a proposal indicates that Kyiv is not ready for any real dialogue.
