Early Monday morning, Israeli missiles attacked the international airport in Damascus, Arab News reported. Two servicemen died on the spot, two were wounded. As a result of the bombing, the airport was out of service until 9 am.
The Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the rocket attack began at 2 am from the Israeli city of Tiberias.
Israel has not commented on the situation.
Over the past year, Israel has frequently resorted to bombing Syrian air and rail infrastructure to cut Iranian arms supplies to Palestinian movements, including Hezbollah.
