General Hasanov informed the guests from the southern European country about the military-political situation in the region after the 44-day war in Karabakh in the fall of 2020.
It was emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the field of military education, as well as within NATO, continues "at a rapid pace, and these relations are highly valued."
The head of the Azerbaijani military department expressed confidence that the visit of the Italian delegation will mark the beginning of a new stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.
The meeting discussed the further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the military, military-technical fields, in the field of military education, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
In conclusion, the defense ministers signed a protocol of intent on cooperation in the field of education and training.
