Georgia reaffirms its readiness to become a mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Tbilisi is ready to become an intermediary between Yerevan and Baku to ensure peace and stability in the region. This was stated today, January 12, by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan.

According to the press service of the Georgian Cabinet, the heads of government discussed the main areas of cooperation between the two countries, as well as issues of regional importance.

The parties stressed the role of the intergovernmental economic commission, noting that it is an important platform for strengthening ties between the Transcaucasian republics. The interlocutors also noted the high level of political dialogue between Yerevan and Tbilisi.

Garibashvili and Pashinyan also considered issues of ensuring security in the region.

The delegation headed by Garibashvili arrived in Yerevan earlier and Thursday to participate in the 12th session of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

Georgia, through its efforts, continues to contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the region, Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili said on September 20, 2022. Official Tbilisi is always ready to become a platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, then the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry assured.
