Stronger, wider, deeper: Israel and Azerbaijan intend to further develop relations

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - By the order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Mukhtar Mammadov has been appointed Ambassador of the Republic to Israel. This is reported by the Iranian agency Miran Press.

Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Dick congratulated the first Ambassador of Baku in Tel Aviv on his appointment:

“Congratulations to my new colleague Mukhtar Mammadov. We look forward to the opening of the embassy and the start of your work there. Together we will make relations between our countries stronger, wider and deeper.”

As reported by bbabo.net, Azerbaijan has officially decided to open an embassy in Israel. Baku and Tel Aviv are developing bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including the military sphere. Israel actively supplied drones to Azerbaijan, in particular, during the 44-day war in Karabakh in the fall of 2020.

Iran has repeatedly warned Baku about the perniciousness of cooperation with the "Zionists". The Islamic Republic has sent several "signals" to Azerbaijan that it will not tolerate an Israeli military presence on its borders. It is the intensification of ties between Baku and Tel Aviv that is one of the reasons for the deterioration of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
