Currently, the daily throughput of the Kani-Kurgan-Heihe checkpoint averages 188 vehicles for entry and exit.

“A significant part of Chinese imports now are special equipment, tires and spare parts for automotive, special and agricultural equipment, consumer goods. Russian exports include lumber, raw materials for traditional Chinese medicine, vegetable oil (soybean, sea buckthorn),” the report says.

The construction of a cross-border bridge across the Kani-Kurgan-Heihe checkpoint began in 2016. The length of the bridge is 1,080 meters, the total length of the bridge crossing is 20 km. It was opened to traffic on June 10, 2022.
