The ambassador also noted that in 2022, India reduced purchases of Belarusian potash fertilizers due to the fact that global transport chains were seriously disrupted in the world. According to him, the country made up for the missing volumes through the purchase of potash fertilizers from Israel, Jordan, Canada and a number of other states. At the same time, as Alok Ranjan Jha said, Delhi sincerely hopes that the situation will improve soon, since not only his country, but also other states need potash, food and fuel at adequate prices.

Recall that Western sanctions against Belarusian potassium were introduced by a number of countries in the spring of 2022. In addition, Lithuania stopped the transit of fertilizers from Belarus through its territory to ports. Last summer, the Indian ambassador already spoke about problems with supplies from Belarus, noting that “the issue of payments is very complicated due to sanctions and other issues, and now the Indian government, our officials, our businessmen are meeting and discussing how to solve this issue” .
