Russia has reduced the quota for duty-free fuel supplies for Kyrgyzstan

Asia (bbabo.net), - The indicative balance of duty-free fuel supplies between Russia and Kyrgyzstan was adopted with a decrease. This was announced today, on January 30, by news agency 24.kg.

The agency cites the words of the President of the Association of Oil Traders of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanat Eshatov, who explained that the annual consumption of fuels and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan is about 1.5 million tons. Of these, 100-150 thousand tons are produced domestically, and 1.2 million tons are imported from Russia duty-free. At the same time, the supply plan for 2023 is set below the level of the previous year.

“Two years ago, we increased the volume of duty-free import of fuel and lubricants. Last year, the indicative balance was 650,000 tons of gasoline and 550,000 tons of diesel. This year the figures are 460 and 485 thousand tons, respectively. Why this happened, we do not know. Allegedly, they could not prove to the Russian Federation that we need just such volumes of fuel. But if there is a need, we are ready to increase the balance. Therefore, we are now already saying that it is necessary to revise the quotas for duty-free import of fuel,” Eshatov said.
