He said that the party is open to everyone who wants and can help in the fight against the current government.

“I want to tell Bidzina Ivanishvili and his confidants that black clouds have gathered over their heads, the Georgian people will soon unleash anger on the Russian oligarch and his puppet, criminal regime ... From today, the National Movement is open to all new people, all old and new comrades who can lay a brick in this fight,” Khabeishvili said.

He also said that the first decisions made by the new leadership of the party will be related to its founder, Saakashvili, who is in prison.

“Misha, I want to promise that we will not stop until your life and health, the freedom of our country are secured,” Khabeishvili said.

The UNM crisis lasted several months. Part of the UNM activists demanded re-elections of the party leadership in early November.

Khabeishvili made the most radical statements of all the candidates, he stated that the country needed revolutionary changes.

According to the results of the electronic elections, Levan Khabeishvili received 52.58% of the votes. The incumbent leader of the party, Nika Melia, won 40%.

Some of the leaders of the UNM, following the election of a new leadership, announced their resignation from party positions, but not from the party.
