Zelensky bans everyone except himself, the prime minister and the Foreign Ministry from commenting on foreign policy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree according to which only the Ukrainian president himself, the Prime Minister and the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry can now give official comments on foreign policy, according to the website of the President of Ukraine.

Decree No. 671/2021 "Issues of coordination of the state's foreign policy activities" states that now only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will have the right to comment on all issues of international cooperation and negotiations, while all state bodies will be obliged to consult with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, the decree formulates a new procedure for negotiating between the state authorities of Ukraine and foreign counterparties, and also introduces the position of "diplomatic adviser" in some ministries.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky introduced new sanctions against participants in the elections to the State Duma in Crimea.

Prior to that, the NSDC of Ukraine approved personal sanctions against 237 people who took part in organizing elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in Crimea and Donbass, and in connection with the voting on them by residents of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
