This was announced today, on February 15, by the representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, on the air of the Kiev TV channel, answering a question about a series of explosions and an air raid signal in the Kiev region.

“These old-fashioned methods that the enemy is now using are not a probe, not a balloon, it’s just a balloon that carries a piece of metal ... What they do it for: they want them to“ work ”, use them as decoys. They also need to exhaust our air defense, both in the ammunition load, and disperse its attention. And with these balloons, UAVs can also be used to hide them,” Ignat said.

Ignat promised that henceforth the Ukrainian air defense would not shoot down such balloons, and the explosions that thundered in the sky over the Kiev region and traces of missiles that the residents saw were most likely directed against some other targets that the balloons were supposed to “cover”.

As bbabo.net reported, on Ukrainian telegram channels, eyewitnesses complained about the appearance of strange balloons in the sky over the Dnipropetrovsk region.
