The Georgian authorities have published a new with Saakashvili

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - The Special Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia published on February 15 a new video with the imprisoned ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili from the Vivamed clinic.

The authorities thus refute the strong deterioration in the health of the ex-president.

A video of Saakashvili falling to the floor was previously published by the opposition media.

Today, February 15, the European Parliament is to publish the final text of the resolution on the transfer of Saakashvili for medical treatment abroad. The deputies will vote for a resolution prepared by five political groups. The draft resolution states that only "a real justice reform will give Georgia the opportunity to overcome the polarization in politics, media, business and the public and contribute to the implementation of the main recommendations of the EU for obtaining candidate status." In addition, she calls on President Salome Zurabishvili from the group to use the constitutional right to resolve the issue. She had previously refused to pardon Saakashvili.

bbabo.net reported that the Tbilisi City Court on February 6 denied the ex-president's release or reprieve. This was requested by the prisoner's defense because of his state of health. The court did not release the prisoner or commute his sentence.

The Georgian authorities periodically publish evidence that prisoner Saakashvili is feigning that he is dying, deliberately eating low-calorie food and engaging in self-harm. Thus, Saakashvili is trying to avoid punishment and go free.

According to the leader of the ruling Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, the goal of Saakashvili and the campaign launched around his release is to start unrest in the country.

According to official information from the US Department of Justice, Mikheil Saakashvili's family paid $917,177 to the American lobbying company Ackerman to cover the campaign to free the former president, who is serving a sentence on two criminal charges.

“It turned out that the campaign associated with the release of Mikheil Saakashvili was dictated by political goals from beginning to end, there is nothing medical here. All this has a single goal - to release Saakashvili in order to start unrest in the country. The ultimate goal is the second front. This lobbying contract is another expression of that. They spent a million and failed to make a diagnosis - this is a summary of everything that is happening around the Saakashvili case. The reason is simple, the only thing that happens is that Saakashvili deliberately, with the participation of his family, does not take food of the proper calorie content, etc. This is a process of self-harm, which, through external interference, should ensure his release. We will not be able to make any political decision either with lobbying contracts or with the mobilization of their friends, this is a legal issue,” Kobakhidze explained.
