The Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia and President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov received Sudanese Ambassador to Moscow Mohammed Sirraj. This is reported by the telegram channel "Arab Africa".
The Russian Foreign Ministry said:
“During the conversation, some practical issues of Russian-Sudanese mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic and humanitarian fields were considered in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached following the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov to Khartoum on February 9 this year.”
The Foreign Ministry noted:
"There was also an in-depth exchange of views on topical Middle East and African issues with an emphasis on the importance of further foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Khartoum."
The meeting took place on the initiative of the Sudanese side.
bbabo.net recalls that following his visit to Sudan and after meeting with the military ruler of the country, Abdel Fattah al-Burkhan, Lavrov noted that the agreement on the establishment of a Russian naval base on the Sudanese Red Sea coast is moving forward, despite pressure from the United States:
"You know that this agreement was signed earlier between the two countries, and it is only waiting for legislative consolidation."
