Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Armenia sided with the Turkish people without hesitation, said today, February 15, Ankara's special representative at the talks with Yerevan on the normalization of bilateral relations, Serdar Kılıç.
The Turkish diplomat posted on Twitter photos from the welcoming ceremony at the Ankara airport earlier this Wednesday, led by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“Geography is the most important factor in determining our common destiny, sometimes, as now, this destiny is shaped by suffering. The humanitarian solidarity shown among the countries of the region is the best medicine to alleviate this suffering. Like all countries in the region, Armenia did not hesitate to take the side of the Turkish people,” the publication says.
As bbabo.net reported, following the talks with his Armenian counterpart, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Armenia expressed solidarity and extended a hand of friendship to Turkey against the backdrop of the consequences of the earthquake, "for which we are grateful to Yerevan."
Mirzoyan's visit was preceded by the dispatch by Armenia of two shipments of humanitarian aid to the regions of Turkey affected by the earthquake. Yerevan also sent a rescue team to carry out search operations in the southeastern Turkish city of Adiyaman.
