Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan announced a 35% increase in budget revenues

Asia (bbabo.net), - Over the past 10 months, the budget of Afghanistan has received revenues of more than 150 billion afghani, which is 35% more than in the same period in 2022. This was announced by the Ministry of Finance of the country, reports today, February 17, Ariana News.

Ministry officials add that the country's exports have also increased this year compared to previous years, and they are aiming to boost economic activity in the country.

“One of the main responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance is revenue collection. In the first ten months of this year, we have collected about 150 billion afghani. If we compare it with previous years, it shows an increase of 30 or 35 percent. This shows that we are in a positive economic direction,” said Afghan Finance Ministry spokesman Ahmed Wali Khakmal.

Representatives of the private sector also welcome the provision by the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan" (the self-name of the country from the Taliban *) conditions for the development of economic activity, calling for intensified efforts to attract foreign investment to the country. Khan Jan Alokozai, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said investments should be made in large projects such as copper mining at Mes Ainak and power generation from coal.

Expert economists believe that a simplified procedure for registering objects can increase domestic and foreign investment in various sectors of the country's economy and contribute to overcoming the economic crisis.

“If the Taliban* (Islamic Emirate) government wants to increase the level of exports, it must create incentives, reduce legal procedures and create transparency in them. It should develop industrial parks, reduce tariffs and facilitate the production of raw materials,” said economic expert Abdul Qadeer Jilani.

The Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan promises that next year large economic projects will be launched in the country, and with them more jobs will be created.
