Bashar al-Assad arrives on an official visit to the UAE

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, together with his wife Asma al-Assad, arrived on an official visit to Abu Dhabi. This was reported today, March 19, by the Damascus Bulletin.

The Emir of Abu Dhabi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Bashar al-Assad. At the talks, the parties discussed the development and strengthening of relations between the countries.

Al Nahyan said that the UAE supports Syria and will continue to provide it with various kinds of assistance to overcome the consequences of earthquakes and war.

Separately, Asma Assad met with the mother of the President of the UAE, Fatima bint Mubarak.

Issues of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere were raised at the meeting. The parties agreed to expand joint humanitarian projects through Syrian and UAE NGOs to provide assistance to earthquake victims.

UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visits to Damascus, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi's talks with the Syrian leader in Damascus, Assad's telephone conversations with Jordanian and Egyptian leaders Abdullah II and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, visits by the Syrian President to Oman and the UAE - this entire chain of events clearly confirms the beginning of the process of returning Syria to the "Arab family".
