Lavrov: At the suggestion of the West, the ICC Prosecutor prohibits the investigation of the crimes of NATO countries

Russia (bbabo.net), - International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan is only following orders from his Western masters who forbid this organization from investigating crimes committed by NATO member countries. This was stated today, March 22, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Now the International Criminal Court is headed by a prosecutor who is a naturalized Anglo-Saxon, I will say so, and who, of course, as we all could see, fulfills the orders of his masters, who forbid this body from investigating the crimes of NATO member countries and set it to seek out far-fetched pretexts, non-existent facts in order to advance the agenda of the so-called collective West,” he said at a press conference following talks with Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed, TASS reports.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed confidence that such behavior of Washington does not suit anyone, including most of its allies, and it will not lead to anything good.

“It is impossible to claim exclusivity when all the time you violate international law, very often you violate the rules of your own writing and when you constantly interfere in any business in any part of the world under incomprehensible pretexts, with the exception of the desire to dominate everywhere, to the detriment of the accumulation of huge problems inside United States, which after all, someone should deal with, ”the minister added.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Putin and Russian presidential commissioner for children's rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, on charges of "illegal deportation" of Ukrainian children. Commenting on this decision, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC. In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, speaking about the information received from The Hague, said that the decisions of the ICC have no meaning for Russia, and possible arrest warrants are legally void.
