The European Commission began to put pressure on Poland because of the conflict with the Supreme Court

The European Commission has launched legal proceedings against Poland over a rule of law dispute, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders said on Twitter.

“Today we launched a procedure against Poland in connection with violations of European law by its Constitutional Court. We tried to establish a dialogue, but the situation is not improving. It is necessary to respect the foundations of the EU legal system, in particular, the rule of European law, ”wrote Reinders.

On October 7, the Polish Constitutional Court recognized the supremacy of Polish legislation over the European one, after which the European Parliament called this step the beginning of the country's exit from the European Union.

In addition, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the EU's promises to stop funding due to changes in Polish legislation "the third world war", which the country will meet "with any weapon."

Earlier, Poland was ordered to pay € 1 million per day for violating EU norms.
