Russia (bbabo.net) - Abnormal cold weather began in the Jewish Autonomous Region. According to forecasts of the Birobidzhan Hydrometeorological Bureau, frosts down to minus 36-38, and in some places minus 40 degrees will remain until December 27.

- Due to the abnormally cold weather, all sectors of the economy are exposed to the expected risks, starting with housing and communal services, the fuel and energy complex and transport. Particular attention will also be paid to work with the population regarding the excess load on the power grid and stoves when heating housing and cars, - said Anatoly Panov, Acting Head of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous Region.

A storm warning was announced in the region. The regional head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations carries out SMS informing of residents. All necessary measures are taken to prevent possible emergencies. So in the capital of the Jewish Autonomous Region they are watching so that there are no disruptions in the supply of heat to the townspeople. So far, there are enough coal reserves to keep energy facilities operating normally.

For primary school students who live in remote areas of Birobidzhan, lessons were canceled on December 23 and 24.

- Based on the requirements of sanitary standards, during severe frosts, students may not attend school. Therefore, it was decided to cancel the classes, - said the mayor of the regional center Alexander Golovaty.
