USA (bbabo.net), - Air force exercises with the participation of North Atlantic Alliance fighters stationed at the Lithuanian Zokniai airbase are taking place in Lithuania.
“Until February 2, the territories of the Panevėžys and Klaipeda regions will be in the zone of the Lithuanian Air Force and NATO aviation exercises Arsus vilkas (Furious Wolf), the Lithuanian army command said.
The exercise involves Lithuanian Air Force helicopters, NATO fighters stationed on a four-month rotation at Zokniai airbase, patrolling the skies of the three Baltic countries, as well as the MQ-9 Reaper long-range unmanned aircraft.
“The purpose of the international exercise is to practice planning, coordinating air fire support by forces of a forward-based combined NATO battalion stationed in Lithuania and conducting air attacks,” the command noted, citing excerpts from TASS.
During the exercises, the naval forces will also simulate calling fire on specified targets.
