Caucasus (bbabo.net), - A cooperation agreement between the ministries of defense of Syria and South Ossetia will be signed at the beginning of this year. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia, Marat Pavlov, on January 22 at a meeting with the president with the heads of the country's security forces.
The Syrian military will arrive in Tskhinvali.
“In the first quarter of 2024, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic are expected to visit South Ossetia to sign an agreement on cooperation between the defense departments of the two states,” Pavlov said.
Syria recognized the independence of South Ossetia on May 29, 2018 and established diplomatic relations almost immediately. There is a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the countries.
