The EU will create a mission to protect ships in the Red Sea

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - Foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) have agreed to create a mission to protect ships in the Red Sea. This was stated at a press conference following a meeting of the EU Council in Brussels by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.

“Agreement in principle has been reached to launch this mission, various options for this mission are now being discussed, it remains to be decided when and how it will be launched,” Borrell said.

Let us remind you that the world food market, experts believe, is already suffering the consequences of unrest and disruption of supplies through the Red Sea. According to Bloomberg, prices are rising and many products are arriving spoiled.

Many types of food, from coffee to fruits and vegetables, are suffering from the chaos in the Red Sea.

The ships, fearing attacks by the Houthis in the waters, make a long detour and sail around the African continent, which is much longer and more expensive. But if oil, gas and consumer goods simply become more expensive after such a long journey, then the products arrive in an unsaleable form.
