USA (bbabo.net), - We do not see Beijing providing lethal military assistance to Moscow, but we see support for Russia from Chinese companies. US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan said this while speaking at a Council on Foreign Relations seminar, TASS reports.
“We have not seen [Chinese] providing [Russia] lethal [military] assistance. But we have seen support [for Russia] from Chinese companies helping Russia restore its defense-industrial complex,” he said.
According to him, the United States is ready to take measures in response to such activities. Sullivan added that during US-China contacts, Washington has made it clear that it is concerned that Beijing might provide lethal assistance to Moscow.
“We have clearly and directly stated our concerns,” he said in this regard.
A White House spokesman recalled that US President Joe Biden signed an executive order that provides the executive branch with additional funds and powers to solve this problem.
“It is not directed against China. It concerns countries that support the Russian defense industry, it gives us tools in this regard,” Sullivan concluded.
