The statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing a military operation in Donbass is not true. Oleg Nikolenko, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said this in a comment to the UNIAN agency.

“The constant efforts of the Ukrainian leadership to shift from the place of the peace process, primarily in the Normandy format, vividly illustrate Ukraine's dedication to the political and diplomatic way of resolving the armed conflict,” he said.

Nikolenko also appealed to Russia to focus on the implementation of the agreements.

“We call on the Russian Federation to concentrate on the implementation of the ceasefire agreements and the end of the international armed conflict in the east of Ukraine,” the press secretary added.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a big press conference, said that the impression was created of a third military operation being prepared in Ukraine.
