The scandal continues around the anti-terrorism exercises that took place on Monday, where, according to information leaked to the media, a scenario was being worked out for settlers in Judea and Samaria to take a Palestinian hostage. The IDF commented on the incident.
According to available information, in addition to the typical scenarios of terrorists infiltrating a Jewish village, a scenario of action against settlers was also worked out. The soldiers, among whom were Duvdevan and Shin Bet fighters posing as settlers, wore reflective vests with the inscription “portraying the enemy” to avoid confusion.
According to the scenario, they set fire to cars in an Arab village in response to the murder of a Jewish child, kidnapped a Palestinian and took him to an Israeli village. Some of the military personnel refused to take part in this exercise.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir immediately responded to the situation, saying that such exercises are absolute madness and a demonization of Jewish settlers. “While 136 Israeli hostages are being held captive by Hamas Nazis, the general orders training exercises designed to shed the blood of settlers. Settlers don't kidnap Arabs. In fact, it’s the other way around: Arabs are walking around the settlements in Judea and Samaria without any fear,” Ben-Gvir said and called on Defense Minister Yoav Galant to immediately intervene and investigate the incident.
