Kazakh police do not comply with international laws - Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry

Asia (bbabo.net), - In Kazakhstan, some police officers do not comply with international laws. This statement was made by the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, reports Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, member of the Kyrgyz parliament Emil Toktoshev said that citizens of Kyrgyzstan who have a residence permit in Kazakhstan are prohibited from driving with domestic licenses, forcing them to obtain a Kazakh driver's license. The parliamentarian called this a violation of the international convention on road traffic, which was adopted by Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry emphasized that Kazakh police officers recommend that Kyrgyz citizens exchange their driver's licenses for a Kazakh model.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry asked the Kazakh side to explain to the police that Kyrgyz rights are valid on the territory of the neighboring country.

A meeting of diplomats with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan on this issue is expected.
